EDIT 2023-01-13, 09:00 UTC: This issue was resolved with the implementation of V48.2. The Emblems and Promotion Items that were spent on Hero Variants have now been sent to affected Players.

2022-12-22, 15:15 UTC: We have discovered an issue affecting the promotion of Variant Heroes. Due to an error with the latest release, the amount of promotion materials required for each promotion level of a Variant Hero is too high. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the issue, it is not possible to fix it immediately.

The fix will be included in our next patch release, which will roll out in the first week of January 2023. In the meantime, we have enabled additional logging to ensure that all promotion materials spent to promote Variant Heroes are tracked. As soon as the fix is live, we will return all extra promotion items that have been used.
